Speciality: quick application of psychological principles to various supernatural activities. (he's a tactician.)
Strengths: × pressure and stress increases his productivity rather than hinders it. × can work in very cold temperatures with little discomfort (weak knee aside, as it doesn't hurt him, merely makes him less agile). × cooperates decently with others, but he prefers to lead projects. × has a very strong personality. × Van is very suited for support combat.

Weaknesses: × Van’s offense is lacking when in close proximity; long-ranged combat is preferred. × if forced into combat on his own, he uses guerrilla tactics, and so long as the opponent isn't extremely powerful, he does fine independently. × has a bad knee that can be exploited, but doesn't typically hinder his athletic abilities at warm temperatures. × very impatient. × also quite bickersome.

Dislikes: × people who like him too easily. he doesn't trust you. × computer monitors and phones. they hurt. he tries to avoid looking at screens as much as he can. × invasive personalities, as he is a bit of a recluse. of course, tact and subtlety cancels this out. × the outdoors. he loves the sun. × … his familiar, every now and then. it's so pokey and stabby. × his archon. he knows it makes him think far too much, and he hates it.

Additional Information:  × He moves with a slight limp when the temperature drops.

 × His glasses are prescription transition lenses — meaning they darken and lighten depending on the environment.  He can function fine without them, but has trouble reading and feels pain when in bright light. His eyes and ears are both pretty sensitive.

 × He's very much a cat person rather than a dog person. In fact, he owns two of them: Mirach and Almach.  (he introduces them as Mira and Alma to other people.) They're named after stars.
